well, i don't see it quite the same way. pop music is about money, not 
music. the music is only there to make money.

sometimes it happens that pop music can produce an 'aesthetic 
experience' but that's often more the result serendipity than intention 
[you could probably also say this about artistic expression in general]. 
unfortunately, the aesthetic expericence in a pop song is usually only a 
springboard to make you buy another disc or t shirt or whatever.
